Office Recycling Solutions
practices a “zero-landfill” policy. We do not merely ship
product to third world countries for de-manufacturing. ORS
offers a Total Electronics Recycling solution! We want to be
your “one stop partner” for all of your recycling needs!
Following is the process we
follow in our recycling program:
-
CRT Monitors and TVs
- ORS has a sub-contract arrangement with the Electronic
Manufacturers Recycling Management Group (MRM) and other
major TV and CRT monitor manufacturers to manage their
State-wide collection programs. These companies work with
us to develop and manage their collection programs for
proper disposal of their items. All items are recycled in a
glass-to-glass facility in New England and nothing is sent
to any Third World County’s illegally. ORS is the only
company in Rhode Island with this contract.
-
LCD Monitors
- Good LCD’s are sold throughout the US, Canada and
Overseas. Non-Working LCD’s are repaired in either New
Jersey or Canada.
-
Computers
- PC’s are taken apart and separated into:
-
Circuit Boards
-
Hard
Drives
-
CD/Floppies
-
Power
Supplies
-
Steel
Cases
-
Circuit Boards - (Which include Motherboards, Memory,
CPU’s)
-
High
Grade Circuit Boards are sent to a precious metals
refining facility in Canada.
-
Hard Drives
- Circuit Boards are removed and the rest is shredded for
Aluminum Content
-
Power Supplies
- Are sent to Copper Refiners for shredding and metal
separation.
-
Steel Cases
- Are Sent to Local Scrap Yards
-
Cartridges
– Are either used in our Cartridge World remanufacturing
process or incinerated in a New England licensed, permitted
waste-to-energy facility
-
Printers
- All HP and Good Condition Lexmark printers are sold to a
printer refurb company. All obsolete and physically damaged
printers are sent to our Canadian partner facility for
destruction and sorted into different materials such as
Steel, Aluminum and Plastics. The metals are sold to local
scrap yards, and the Plastics are baled and sent out to
plastic recycling firms that regrind the plastic for reuse
purposes.
-
Re-Marketing
– All remaining, marketable items are refurbished and sold
on our online store.
